CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CONSIGNORS AND FALL CLOTHING
 

HOW TO CONSIGN:

  1. To open a consignor account, you must first fill out the application form at the bottom of the page and submit it to shop@nettlestale.com or drop it off in store for approval before dropping off your items. **Please ensure you thoroughly review our guidelines on what items will / will not be accepted**

  2. Consignors must submit at least 5 items on their initial drop off to set up an account. A maximum of 20 items will be accepted at one time for consignment. 

  3. You will receive approval of your account via email, and at that time can arrange a drop off appointment. Once approved, you will also be sent a link to set up your consignor portal account, where you can view sales, inventory, payouts and more.

  4. During your appointment our team will review & sort through your items. You must stay at the storefront during this appointment, if you need to leave you should return before the end of close that same day. If you leave and do not return in time, any items not accepted will be immediately donated.

  5. For future drop-offs, please email shop@nettlestale.com to coordinate another appointment

  6. If a consignor is consistently bringing items that do not fit within our guidelines, you will be given warning by email. If this continues to happen, your account may be closed. If you ever have questions about garments before submitting, feel free to email us with photos & specs.

 

CONSIGNMENT GUIDELINES:

  • Sale price will be set based on original retail price and according to market average, seasonality, and more. Pieces that are brand new or in excellent condition will typically be sold for 60% of original price, and more worn or lower value items will be 40% of original price. Consignors can list MSRP and suggested resale price when they drop off their items, but we reserve the right to price the item as we see fit.
  • After 30 days, items will be removed from the floor and the consignor will be notified by email to pick up. Consignors must pick up leftover items within 7 days, or they will be donated. You will only be emailed one reminder for pickup, so please ensure you are checking your email inbox.
  • If an exception is made to keep a certain item past 30 days, it may be marked down in price. We reserve the right to change prices at our discretion.
  • Your items may also be removed from the floor at any point, at our discretion. 

     

    What type of clothing is accepted:

    • New or good condition items that are seasonally appropriate. 
    • Preference given to items made by ethical & sustainable businesses, small makers, or the like. Vintage pieces will be accepted at our discretion. 
    • Preference given to items made of natural fabrics or high quality synthetic / blended fabrics.
    • Items that align with the general aesthetic of our storefront — consignment is only a small fraction of what we sell in our storefront, and items must not feel out of place amongst everything else. 
    • All clothing must fall into size range XL and higher (approx size US 14/16 and above). 

      What type of clothing is NOT accepted:

      • No SHEIN, Forever 21, H&M, Old Navy, Gap, Torrid, or brands of similar value and quality.
      • No swimwear or lingerie (exceptions will be made for non-underwire bras, like those made by Arq, Free Label, or Girlfriend Collective). 
      • Luxury, or vintage items that have a resale value of over $350 (our neighbour Collective Will specializes in this department).
      • Items that are dirty (stains, armpit yellowing, pet hair, etc), pilled, or that have a strong odor. 
      • Items with tears, holes, excessive wear, or fading.
      • No Nettle’s Tale items (or other brands we carry) that are currently for sale in our store.
      • No accessories or shoes. 

      We reserve the right to make allowances at our discretion.

       

      PAYOUTS:

      • Consignors will receive 50% of the resale price, before taxes.
      • Once a consignor has accrued over $100, they will be eligible for a payout, processed at the end of each month.
      • Consignors have the option to be paid via e-transfer (to the email provided) or be issued store credit (in the form of a gift card) for Nettle’s Tale Shop. 
      • If a consignor’s balance is less than $100, they will be paid out after all of their items have been sold or removed from the floor.
